Our Mission
Supported by a dedicated team of volunteer members, historians, and community partners, the Tribe is making measurable progress in preserving its history. A physical and digital Tribal Archive has been established to ensure current members and future generations have reliable access to their heritage. This work is made possible through generous donations and collaborative partnerships with archives and businesses nationwide.
Among key partners, the Moravian Archives in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, holds thousands of pages of records documenting the Tribe’s history and the hardships faced during the migration to the Kansas reservation. The Moravian Church has also played a role in preserving the Tribe’s cemetery in Ottawa, Kansas, helping protect an important site of memory and continuity for the community.
Today the tribe has the following committees:
Munsee General Committee
Sub-Committees:
Cemetery Awareness Committe
HLC Committee
Tribal Development Committee
Enrollment Committee
